Each winter, the Seaport District transforms into a winter wonderland called Snowport. Now through Jan. 2, the area is our go-to spot for holiday cheer.

What’s there to do at Snowport?

🛍️ For the first time ever, shop gifts and goodies from 60+ small businesses at Seaport’s outdoor holiday market. Once you’ve shopped ‘til you drop, warm up in a heated tent and grab a bite from the delicious food + drink menu at Tuscan Kitchen or a hot cocoa from No Chewing Allowed.

💡 Check out the tree lighting on Seaport Common Fri., Dec. 3, during Light Up Seaport. There will be live holiday tunes, deals at area stores + a special celebrity appearance from Betty the Yeti. There will also be a Menorah Lighting Celebration Sun., Dec. 5 from 4-5:30 p.m.

🎄 Look no further than The Tree Market, open through Christmas Eve, for all your holiday decor needs. You can buy trees, wreaths + lights. Pro tip: Evergreen Delivery makes life so much easier by biking your purchases right to your home.

🧊 Snuggle up with a great drink + even better view at a heated rooftop igloo. The popular Lookout Rooftop and Bar at the Envoy Hotel offers specialty cocktails and small plates to enhance the igloo experience. A maximum of six people are allowed in one igloo for two hours, by reservation only.

🥌 Free, public curling lessons are available every Saturday on Seaport Common through February. As Seaport says, go ahead, give it a curl.

What’s the best way to get there?

While Snowport programming takes places throughout the neighborhood, the daily holiday market is located at 88 Seaport Blvd., just steps from Waterfront Park.

Convenient parking is available at One Seaport Garage. If you’re taking public transit, take the Silver Line to Courthouse Station.

The MBTA approved a project to scale up their electronic ink signs, which deliver real-time travel information. In 2021 and 2022, these signs will be implemented at most surface-level Green Line stations on the B, C, and E branches + additional bus stops throughout Greater Boston.

Paul Calantropo, a jeweler and fine arts appraiser, is now speaking publicly about his 1990 meeting with prime suspect Bobby Donati. Did you know that children and teens can read with a furry friend at the O’Neill Branch of the Cambridge Public Library? Trained therapy dogs accompany new or experienced readers up to age 14 every month. Registration is required for each 10-minute time slot and begins one week in advance. 📖
