Cambridge will be getting a new seafood restaurant and bar this spring. The team behind the Italian restaurant Giulia will open the new venture, called Moëca, at 1 Shepard St. (Eater Boston)

Mayor Wu announced a special New Year’s promotion to encourage families of Boston Public Schools to take advantage of Boston Saves, a children’s savings account program. Families who log in to the program’s online savings platform for the first time by Mon., Jan. 31 will earn an extra $25 for their child’s account.

Development

Developer Skanska USA recently submitted plans to the city for a 1.75 million sqft mixed-use project on Simmons University's residential campus. The office and laboratory space would span four buildings across Brookline Avenue + Pilgrim Road. (Boston Globe)

Theater

Jennifer Garner has been named Woman of the Year by Harvard University’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals. The acclaimed actress and philanthropist will be cheered on in a parade through Harvard Square on Sat., Feb. 5, followed by a roast to receive her pudding pot. (Boston.com)
